So in The Book That I Am Reading….

“The Power of 10 Billion Dreams” by Ralph Marston 

In the book he talks about how important it is to visualize your dream to the finest detail to help bring it to fruition. I feel like I’ve always done that while coming down from a tree-top super high but never in depth. He goes on to describe a day on his boat like it was a entry from the Captain’s log. I thought it was so doubt so I figured I’d give it a try. Here we go and please don’t judge what I am about to write. It’s going to be as in depth as I can possibly go and I’m literally going to close my eyes and start typing until I can see the scene in my head.

Time: 8:37 am 

Location: Somewhere, New Mexico 

The stage check for today went amazing which surprised me a bit. I was almost positive that something would fuck up seeing how on the last two shows it did but all is well this time. In the distance I see my man Scott rolling up one of his monstorous classics. God I love lighting up right before a major event. It keeps me calm yet focused at the same time. Like I know tonight is a “big deal” with the amount of fans that will be showing up but I’m fully confident that I can rock the mic. I just spoke with Sean Carter yesterday and he told me to, “keep up with the good work”. Do you understand how insane it is to have your idol calling you and telling you to keep on doing what you’re doing?! I was talking to my best friend Mark about tonight’s venue and he said there would be something close to 50,000 in attendance. I mean we’re sharing the stage with the likes of The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Kid CuDi, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Big Sean, Curren$y, Ok GO, and so many other talented groups. 

Sometimes it gets a little crazy to comprehend that I’ve finally made it. When we finally finished the soundcheck and got the levels right I took decided to take a walk beneath the sun. I looked down and could see dust all over my gun-metal colored Levi’s and my new SB Nikes. Little things like that would get me vexed in the past but luckily I’m fortunate enough to be able to buy most of the things I want. As I’m walking I can see tiny sand hills to the left of me and what looks like a ridge overlooking some great view to the left of me. I decide to head left to see if I could get some inspiration for a new song I’m working on with Snoop. 

As I approach the ledge I’m overtaken by chills. The calm blue skies gently elevate above me seeming to only be inches away. Tiny speckles of dust whirl around the frames of my black custom ray-bans. The clouds seem to wrap around my head forming a giant puffy halo. I can tell that my old friend Kevin is smiling in heaven and decided to give me something nice to see before my show. I stood there for close to 20 minutes in complete silence just taking in all the beauty that truly is life. 

When I was younger I was so mad at the world. I felt like the path I traveled was cursed and that I would never amount to anything. Now I’m a role model for people who have experienced similar troubles. I can’t believe that millions of people have heard me when a few years ago only my campus knew about me. I look down at my black Seiko watch and see that it is time for a ritual pre-performance smoke session with the whole team. I was even able to fly out a couple of good friends from college to come to the show and chill backstage. It’s funny how my entourage is so mixed but I look over at Curren$y’s camp and just see all black. I guess it’s a testament to how much of an oreo I am. Fuck it though because it’s all respect plus we all have the chance to burn together. 

So this is what the winners circle looks like…if so, I don’t want to ever leave

Damn felt kind of good not going to lie. I enjoyed writing that and I admit I opened my eyes but I could still visualize a lot of the stuff I was putting down. It’d be awesome to be able to perform in such a crazy event. By the way all the artists I mentioned are favorites of mine lol. Clearly it was some type of MEGA Music Festival but hey, it’s my dream =)!
